SMTP Binding

From version 1.2.44.498 of the SHC 2.0 and version 3.1.1111.0 of the classic SHC, local sending of emails via SMTP binding is possible.< /p>

Please note that the setup of SMTP with the "big" mail providers is limited due to some very strict regulations when sending mail and therefore not every provider can be used with this binding.

Settings

Before the binding can be used in the local web app, it must be configured under "Settings > Email". You can usually find the data for the settings on the homepage of your email provider:

Field Description

Address

Here you have to enter the address of your email provider's SMTP server. This is usually an address in the format smtp.yourprovider.com.

Port

Depending on the security mechanisms used, you must specify the port here through which the SMTP server can be accessed. The most common port used here is 587, but 465 is not entirely uncommon either.

Username

The login name for authentication against the SMTP server. This is usually your (main) email address.

Password

The password for authentication to the SMTP server. This is usually the password you use when logging into your email provider's web portal.
However, with many providers you have to set up a special app password and enter it here.

Email address

Enter the email address(es) here that you want to receive emails from your LIVISI SmartHome. Here you can also enter multiple recipient addresses separated by a comma. You should not use spaces.

Many providers only allow sending to other addresses of the provider or even only to your own email address.

Device not reachable

Set this checkbox if you want to be informed by email about unreachable devices

Low battery

Set this checkbox if you would like to be informed by email about devices for which the battery(s) need to be changed soon.
